Join Dupont Circle Main Streets in welcoming 50 pop-up artists and makers to the sidewalks of P Street and Connecticut Avenue, NW as we celebrate the dog days of summer on Saturday, August 28th from 12:00 – 6:00 p.m. Vendors will be paired with retail shops, restaurants, and services to maximize shopping interest and create a dynamic pedestrian flow.
“Dupont Circle is excited once again to host a pop-up market on the sidewalk offering crafts hard to find elsewhere on Saturday, August 28th,” said Sue Taylor, Main Streets’ Promotion Committee chair. “This neighborhood is unique with 40 shops, 90 restaurants, and 130 services. With this pop-up, we are able to bring an exciting new experience – the best our neighborhood has to offer! There is something for everyone. We hope those from around the city, as well as out of town, will join us.”
Pop-up vendors will include jewelers, painters, potters, clothing designers, florists, candle makers, soap renderers, and other crafters. The pop-up is designed to showcase the latest trends in maker goods, including homemade and handmade items for sale, as well as draw people to Dupont Circle for the afternoon.
Pop-ups will be in front of retail stores, outside on the sidewalk so you can walk around and then take a break in Dupont Circle Park for a coffee or sit in a parklet to recharge. With two coffee shops, three tea shops, and 50 outdoor cafes and streateries, Dupont Circle has something for everyone.
Volunteers will be at the Dupont Circle Metro North – Q Street passing out maps and giving directions to pop-up shops, retailers, art galleries, and other destinations.
The pop-up event is organized by Historic Dupont Circle Main Streets and sponsored by the Department of Local and Small Business Development. The event is free and open to the public. Rain or shine.
